the weather , bait , methods or no fish in the lake

1. Find your fish
2. Present an acceptable bait to them in a manner that does not alert them to your presence or spook them and if they are in the mood to feed they will.

Well thats what our patron saint 'Richard Walker' used to say anyway and he made it sound so simple although he was right.

Sometimes it is as simple as going down a hook size and/or changing your presentation, or It could be that you are using a 'blown' bait (that the fish is wary of), or that the fish have moved because of the wind etc. or that the fish are bloated out with too much feed being chucked in, or that the fish are just not in the mood, or that the venue you fished had too few fish..... but I would have a wander round and talk to the anglers catching the most to see how and where they are fishing & where the productive swims are.

It's still a little early in the year and quite possible that the water is cold enough that the fish are still shoaled tight. Blanks are the price we all pay to learn. When we learn we get better and when we get better we catch more.
