Thumbs up 1st carp session planned

Have finally got my first carp session booked in for 10th april (dusk till dawn). Only fishing a small local pond by me with 8 swims, natural baits only and set in nice surroundings.
The pond record is 18.5lbs carp.

I will be fishing 3 rods, 2 of which will be on the bottom and 1 on a float (just to see if I can pick anything else up). Im using cockles, worm and the good old sweetcorn for bait.

Regardless of weather I catch or not, I will post some photos of the pond and my mug shot for the first time.....
Never posted a photo before so im sure there will be a few TEST threads.

Tight lines all and happy fishing

Re: 1st carp session planned

If the carp have a taste for fishy baits try cheap frozen prawns, i have found them to be a killer. Good luck with your session.

Re: 1st carp session planned

Ive tried them before but never had much luck with them, although I might try defrosting some and soaking them in a strong smelling fish sauce. Cheers

Re: 1st carp session planned

If you soak them in fish sauce for 2 hours then nuke the prawns in the microwave for 10-20 secs they become rubbery which helps when you're casting them a fair distance...
