Re: thinking tackle is coming onto discovery for people who dont have sky sports I watch them but take them with a pinch of salt. I actually don't mind him and think he is a good presenter of a fishing program. What I don't like about them is that every different tecnique they show they also try and sell a product with it. Like 3 and 3/4 tc rods with 300+ pound reels. Implying you "need" them. But then I suppose without the advertising and sponsors there would be no show or me to watch.but like nick r said they do sell everything but most of it tends to be someone elses idea with there name on. Just don't get caught up in thinking you need this and that I have found the best way is to fish you ability no one elses.

Re: thinking tackle is coming onto discovery for people who dont have sky sports Havent heard or seen any of the Thinking Tackle programmes, but if they have had 5 seasons on Sky, there must be people watching them. I will have a look though, as I am a newcomer to carp angling, and inexperienced enough to want as many hints and tips as I can get, but old and wise enough (well I think so!) not to be taken in by the subversive advertising on the programmes. Shame they dont make another Passion for Angling series (they didnt do very many of those did they? have only see about 6? episodes, or is there more that I have missed?). Day ticket is a laugh, enjoy watching them - dont learn too much but the 2 lads are obviously having great fun!

Re: thinking tackle is coming onto discovery for people who dont have sky sports I have only ever fished 24 hours sessions (max) I have never put anywhere near that amount of bait in and never felt the need! Must be the lakes I fish. I will spod to a spot with a particle, pellet and boilie mix. And try to keep the fish in the swim. Remember where they are fishing though. Big lake with very big greedy carp in. For a week session you want the fish to stay feeding at all times.

Re: thinking tackle is coming onto discovery for people who dont have sky sports They're good programmes. Really technical. For me they go too far (super-duper rigs etc) and I don't fish the way they do but it's still worth watching. Always something to learn and think about.

Re: thinking tackle is coming onto discovery for people who dont have sky sports I think you have to give fairbrass his dues. He started making leads in his shed and selling them on the bank now hes got a massive international tackle business and a awsome french lake. I think he has also played a part in introuducing new faces to the sport which can't be a bad thing. I know what you are saying nick but whays wrong with bringing carp fishing to the masses?
