flurocarbon will sink better than mono and is less visable. you can always use a flying back lead to pin down the last few yards of your rig. Or slide a back lead on from your rod tip once your rig is in position, this will get most of your mainline on the deck no need to fish slack lines then.

Trouble with that is the lake I'm fishing at the moment the contours of the lake rise up and down a few times before my hookbait so putting a backlead on makes the line sit at a funny angle three my swim.

I always use flying backlead to keep the last few ft of line after my hookbait pinned down. Just use some pva string to stop it flying to far back. But I like to fish slack lines as I like the bite detection it's gives me. I spooled up with Korda adrenaline to see what's it's like. Very nice for casting and playing the fish but find it's awkward to sink etc...
