my 1st carp

woop woop i caught my 1st ever mirror carp on saturday it was only about a lb and a hlf but hey they all count..well chuffed

i wanted to catch carp straight away,but i guess i got to crawl before i can walk,just learning to do waggler rigs and stuff at min,also doing a bit of feeder fishing too

well hopefully this is just the start,the only downside i hav,i`m unable to get transport so the public bus is the only form of travel,but i do go with a mate who has a car but dont like to put on to him too much

The first will be amemory that stays wiith you for ages. As i began catching tiny things, stickles backs etc it was amagic moment. Took hours to land. It was on a fly rod, I'd caught soem stockie rainbows to 1lb, when 7LB carp came along.
Again congratualtions, but if I may say, don't concentrate on one species only, winters comming, at about 50mph if what I hear outside the window is true, and that leads to some other species comming out to play.

hmmm...thought with winter setting in things get a lot quieter with the fish sitting on the bottom and not feeding as much (living off there fat so to speak)

Caught my first carp {a mirror of 5.7lb in 1967 } . never looked back , it got me into this wonderful past time , Learn the trade , it will serve you well
