| Re: carp on the float help now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wuold fish close to the lillies, but soon the lillies will start to die back. Do you have a firmer rod other than a quivertip, is your rod an avon type. I ask because asthe fish realise they are hooked, they will try to dive into the lillies. My close in rig for carp/tench/big roach fishing is to use a waggler/peacock/goose quill, which is fixed on the line, but no shot. I use a 6-8" hooklength, size 12 fox barbless hook, above the swivel linking the hooklength to the mainline, I have a soft rubber bead, then a free running 1/8oz ledger. The float is about 8-10" over depth. I cast out then tighten up the line til the float has settled to a height I am happy with which depends on the chop on the surface. |

| Re: carp on the float help now!!!!!!!!!!!!!! float rod should hold up fine as long as you play the fish properly and not put to much strain on it as set up goes buy some waggler adapters there about 1.50 for five and i wouldnt leave home without em .use soft halibut pellets on the hook and fish tight in to the margins under over hanging trees also use luncheon meat topped with corn for tench as well tight lines |
