carp baits

can any of you lot tell me if mussels and prawns are a good carp bait.i have a freezer full of boilies the only thing they have caught is me the angler

yeh ive cuaght a few carp on mussels and prawns, microwave the prawns for a couple of mins to toughen em up before you go

prawns are an excellent bait, they have oil in them that drive fish crazy. you also have a good chance of catching a catfish using fishy flavoured baits.

try this out for a carp bait. double chocolat muffins blitzed up in a food processor mixed with a loaf of bread also blitzed. add the juice from a tin of sweetcorn an use on a method or cage feeder with 3 bits of sweetcorn on a hair rig. you could also add drinking chocolat powder to this mix for that extra choco kick. or make boilies from blitzed up jam doughnuts the carp went mad for them at my last session
