Is sweetcorn ok for bass?

Finally the weekend has nearly arrived, i'm going fishing tomorrow, i'm hoping to catch some bass with shiny spinners.

Does anyone know if sweetcorn will do the trick generally for bass?

Also, I didn't understand where to put this thread, in the general section (here) or in the Freshwater Fishing section under all the sub sections?
