Smile Best Day Fishing At Crockerton Today 17th August

This is my catch report from Crockerton today set up in peg 13 at about 6:30am

View From peg 13

This is were i was fishing

Set up both straight ledger Rod 1 with Pineapple boilie Rod 2 with Bacon Grill, Baited the area up with Boilies/ pellets/ sweetcorn / Bacon Grill, After about 15-20min Rod 2 zipped around bite alarm buzzing, After about 8-9mins of a fight in to my net went my first hard fighting common carp of about 5-6lb

Baited back up with Bacon Grill, cast back in the same place, after about 20-30mins of went rod 2 again in came with out a real fight a tench didnt weigh this one

2-3Lb Tench

Baited Rod 2 back up Cast back same place Bacon Grill, Reeled in Rod 1 baited up with Bacon Grill back out in Rod 1's place, After about 30-40mins Rod 1 started beeping a pulling a bit, striked and reeled in little Bream about 1/2Lb

Time was getting on reeled in both Rods had to go drop brother of in town, Dropped him of on way back popped into Steve's tackle to have a look, Asked him what baits working well for the Carp in crockerton he said most boilies, so had a look about seen some Strawberry Jam one's, i could remember Banana Steve Writing in the forums that he did pretty good with them So brought them and some more 8mm Trout pellets, back to crockerton i went, Baited the swim up again with everything + strawberry jam bolies & Trout pellets, This Time baited rod 1 up with 2 strawberry jam bolies and casted out and baited rod 2 up with you guessed it Bacon Grill, After about 20-30mins Rod 1 Screamed of into another hard fighting common

8LB Common

Just about to bait up again when some people come round asked me how i was getting on told them, and spoke to them they said popups working good because of the tree leaves under the water, so this time baited up with

1 fish meal popup with strawberry jam on the bottom,

casted back out in spot 1, caught 2 more Bream on rod 2 on bacon Grill, so i changed to Pineapple boilie with a bit of peperami casted in on spot 2, after about 30 mins of went rod 1 again hard fight for about 7-8min in came another common of about 3-4lb, casted straight back out in spot 1, after about 20-25mins rod 2 started to pull and bite alarm started beeping stricked and reeled in what i thought was a Bream but it was about 1/2lb Roach, baited back up with 1 strawberry jam boilie back out on spot 2, after about 40-50mins no bites back went the Bacon Grill on Rod, after about 10-15 mins in to another bream of about 1/2lb, baited back up with Bacon Grill out on spot 2 it went. After about 30mins of Screamed Rod 1 had to jump and get it rod half way in the water after a hard scrap for about 9-10mins in came another Common

Just under 10lb Common

Casted straight back in spot 1, reeled in rod 2 this time baited up with 1 Fishmeal boilie after about 40mins rod 2 bite alarm started beeping and little bit of line come of, in again !! this time a small tench of about 1-2lb, casted back to spot 2, after about 40-50mins of went rod 2 into another Common of about 4-5lb into the net it went just about to get the net out of the water when rod 1 went SCREAMING of!!! lucky people on the next peg came to see what i got, i ask them to grab the landing net with the fish in, when i grabed rod 1 by this time the fish was under the tree at the back, i managed to get it out but a soon as it was out straight back in and snap my line!!!!!! THE BIG ONE ALL WAYS GETS AWAY , casted Rod 2 back in spot 2, Re-set up rod 1 same again fish meal popup with strawberry jam, after about 40-50mis of went rod 1 again into another common of about 3-4lb, baited back up out on spot 1 again, Went dead for about 40mins so reeled in rod 2 baited with Bacon Grill again, after about 10mins into another Bream of about 1/2lb, baited casted out spot 2, after about 20-30mins of went Rod 1 again into another common of about 5-6lb, baited back up casted out, After about 1 hour of went rod 1 again!!!!!! For the last time this time it was a mirror.

3-4lb Mirror

After this pic no more bites and it was getting a little dark so called it a day, what a busy session No massive fish but 8 carp/6 Bream/ 2 tench & 1 roach, i caught more in this session than i every caught in the 4 times fishing in crockerton put together.
