 Were determined to go this weekend no fishing for us last weekend, so this weekend we were determined to get out there whatever the weather! Saturday pm we returned to Berkley, we were the only ones there, like having your own lake, great! Patted the ponies, loaded up our new barrow and trotted off to the bottom of the lake, carefully avoiding the tiny new frogs hopping about all over the path. I got out the float rod, Martin the new rod with lunceon meat for silver fish, we did quite well, I had 5 nice, small, clean wildies within an hour or so, then it bucketed down and we had to give up, the tiddlers were not biting either...  Then Sunday pm we (well me really) needed bigger sport to exercise the shoulder muscles so we went to Shearwater, very quiet, surprisingly, able to tuck in under the trees with the carp going mad...5 very nice older carp about 8 to 10 lbs for me and 20 tiny roach and rudd for the boy... also 3 largish greedy bream for me, no matter how I tried to avoid the shoal... still very satisfying, nice to have some weight on the line... have gone back to work feeling that we have had a nice weekend. __________________ I say we fish 5 days, work 2     |
