Re: velocity angling centre

Fished it quite a few times now. Which lake are you fishing??? Silverwood the main lake isnt easy you have to work at it but the rewards can be good. The best looking carp round here. Spend time looking at the water to try and spot fish. Have a good chat with shane(the owner) Hes a spot on bloke and will help as much as he can. Also use the boilies he sells in the shop as this is what most of the members use and the lakes seen alot of these. Shane does good prices as well. Dont ignore the 5 acre lake theres some good fish in there that fight like there on steroids. if you want any more info let me know.

Re: velocity angling centre

Silverwood is by no means easy but the rewards are worth it you do catch. The 5 acres is there runs water with fish up to 20lb but they are stunning powerful fish in there. If you fish the pegs to the left of the car park the 5 acre is right behind you so you can actually fish both. There are a couple of double swims but otherwise there quite well spaced out. Good luck let us know how you get on.

Re: velocity angling centre

The boilies he sells are GB Baits. With regards to spod spod mix they seem to like beds of pellets with boilies over the top as this seems the most popular over there. Shane will give you landing nets, Recovery slings and unhooking mats so youll be able to leave yours at home. Its worth checking the forum on the website as alot of the members post on there and are always willing to answer questions.

Re: velocity angling centre

The lake is quite weedy but has plenty of clear patches and i know shane is clearing more at the mo. Its quite a dark looking lake as its an old peat working. Dont be afraid to fish into the weed with a chod rig as the fish root around and there have been some good catches. Personally i wouldnt bother with tubing but a good peice of advice i can give is make sure your lead discharges easily if you hook a fish as they are powerful fighters and can dive in the weed and by discharging the lead you will have a very good chance of getting them out even if you have to use a boat if they do snag you.
