New bait?

While out at the weekend and chucking in some hempseed, I realised how much it looked like 'Shot'. So I wondered if putting on 2 bb shot to a hair rig would be a great bait fished over hemp. If you perhaps added a white stripe to it, it would look even more realistic.

But I wondered if a carp were to swallow the shot, (not sure if they would) would it then damage the carp's insides in any way. Does anyone know?

Could be quite a good bait though....

Re: New bait?

Interesting thought

The problem I see is that carp suck up the food and a split shot would not come off the bottom easy

Split shot is all lead free and should pass through the carp but I think myself would feel uneasy with using it

How about puff cereal and cannot remember the name but look like big hemp seeds plus are sugar coated and float so would act as a pop up

Re: New bait?

good point, maybe 1 shot on the hair may go up easier.

I think the cereal you're on about could be coco pops? Could be a good summer bait and ledgered, popped off the bottom an inch or 2 around some hemp.

So many options, will now go drop a coco pop in my fish tank and see how they enjoy it
