| More carping on... So, Tuesday evening, we had just got back from work, and, after the blank on Sunday The Carping On Society (members 2) decided to try a bit of evening fishing down on Rood Ashton Lake, needing a confidence boost. We arrived there at about 7.30 pm, quite busy, somebody even had a barbecue going! Traipsed up to the far end and made a start. Once again, fishing on the top and BINGO!!! I caught 8 carp in 2½ hours, the largest about 9lb, smallest about 4lb, it was the easiest bit of fishing I have ever done apart from Longleat bottom lake last summer, really restored my faith in fishy nature! The guy fly-fishing on the left-hand side had caught 11 fish so I wasn't able to boast to him, the other half of the Carping On Society had caught 1 5lb carp, wasn't really concentrating, just went for a rest and basically to shut me up & put a smile on my face!!! I realise I had been looking a bit sour lately!! ![]() Most importantly, NO duck problems, the lady at Rood Ashton feeds her ducks every night, if any other lake owners are out there, please take care of your ducks, geese, swans etc so that they dont mob the poor fishermen who have paid good money to fish in your lake!!! (Rant over) |
