Night session this weekend

Going out with my mate for a night session tomorrow at Roughton fisheries (chapel road lake). We have a variety of baits, worms, pellets, bread, meat, boilies(12ml esteberry flavour, 15ml white choc, halibut, esteberry and 15ml plum pop-ups) We'll be spodding goat food and hopefully bagging up

make sure you have your stove,there is nothing better than a nice cup of tea in the middle of a cold night, a nice fried breakfast is even better.

as for the cold recon first frost tommorrow night and i'm doing a survival camp out mmmmmm

Well did the night, even it was bloody freezing! Got to the lake at about 7:30 am to see it completely empty so we were able to fish wherever we wanted. Roughton is aropund 1 1/2 acres with some carp, tench, bream, a few ornimental fish, roach, perch, ruffe, gudgeon etc..

We spodded out some pellets, goat food as soon as we were there, i was fishing to the left of an island, my mate in open water. I baited up my rods with halibut boilies and esteberrry boilie on the other. My mate fished 2 12ml esteberries and large halibut pellet on the other. At around 1:30 I got a run on estebberry boilie, turned out to be a small tench of around 1 1/2lb. Nothing happened for a while so at around 11:00pm cast out the rods again and decided to go to bed. About 30 mins later a bloke who was doing the night too came over and wanted some help, he'd got his car stuck in the mud, so after waking ourselves up we had to help this guy with 3 other anglers get his car out. After about 10 mins out it came and we were soaked in mud. Got tired and went to bed again. Seemed to be getting a lot of line bites and no proper runs it wasn't the best of nights until at about 4:00 am my mates rod on halibut pellet screamed off, i jumped out and hit it and was into a fish (with no shoes on, FREEZING feet! ) got it in and turned out to be a 6lb ghost carp.

Nothing happened again (apart from getting runs from ducks, they drive me mad!) until about 11:30am when my mate got a small skimmer on 2 10ml source boilies. Was the last fish of the session which i enjoyed despite it being a bit cold.

i always kept my boots on and put plastic bags over my feet,the sleeping bag was clean and i was ready for action
