| Cobbleacre, 48hrs Well this was a bit of a spur of the moment thing but i decided to go to Cobbleacre for a couple of night afer work on Thursday. I arrived at the lake around 6pm and got set up as quickly as i could as i didn't wanna' be setting up in cold and dark. My swim: ![]() View from the bivvy: ![]() So bivvy up first and then the rods went out, everything sorted and i was off to bed around 8.30pm, was knackered but i wasn't annoyed at being woken up 3 hours later by this little beauty. ![]() Back to bed, into the warmth of my sleeping bag, lovely. I had another run at around 1.30am which resulted in this beautiful koi. ![]() No more action for that night. I woke up to find a very foggy setting. ![]() After an actionless morning i decided to try a bit of float fishing close to the snags to my left, first cast i had this nice size roach ![]() Second cast and i hooked into a better fish, had it on for at least 15 minutes, i was constantly worrying about my 4lb hooklink and size 16 hook but the net was slipped underneath it and it turned out to be the biggest of the session so far, 12lb 14oz. ![]() Can't really remember what order things happened from here on but i had a couple more out in the day and i know i lost one in the reeds. Dan also joined me for a while and i had a few more decent roach. As night fell the fish really turned on and i landed 5 more decent fish in the foggy night, including this 14lb 2oz mirror. ![]() As the session drew to a close i wasn't expecting anymore fish but as i was bring in one of my rods to be put away i had another run and resulted in a nice common getting on for double figures. Overall a very good session and brilliant surroundings. Thanks for reading, Chris. Last edited by pingu; 04-04-2009 at 02:48 PM. Reason: made pictures work |
