Tirley Court - First trip of the year.

how bad do I feel...its mothers day and I was up at 6:30 and out the door by 7 to go fishing for the first time in 09. Bad start to the day when i started setting up to find my brand new alarm doesnt work and my old one was at home, so taking that back to the shop tomoro. just as i managed to do get my line in i had the baliff come round (for those of you who've fished tirley you'll know what a pain in the ass she is) tried telling me my net wasnt big enough when i'd fished there all last summer with it and brought it specifically to fish there. its a 36" shakespear net by the way, definately too small for a 20lb carp .

After practically shoving it in her face she suddenly remembered me and alowed me to carry on - Couldnt have remembered too well because she thought i was 16 and charged me childs price - not bad for a 21 year old, 6ft 2" 17.5 stone rugby prop.

I decided to fish out close to the island with 3pieces of corn on a hair, over a bed of chilihemp in PVA. Obviously i couldnt detect the bites too well without the alarm but decided to put the bobbin on and watch it for a while. With nothing happening from 8-10 I decided to stick out a float aswell and fish the margins with corn, had a few knocks but nothing took it under, at this point I was just listening to the free runner real as my bite indicator which eventually paid off as around mid-day i had a very nice 13Lb 2Oz common carp.

That was all, decided to call it a day at 3 so I could get back and go out for a mothers day meal otherwise i'd never hear the end of it. Can't wait till it gets warmer and they really start biting.

I fished there last saturday morning. I had a small common but that woman she is a nightmare. She knows nothing about fishing, fish handling or fish dietary. She has a problem with interacting with people and it makes me wonder why she has a fisherie at all? Maybe just for the £

Well done. Tirley can be hit or miss but its good when its on form. She can be abit funny but once you get to know her she's not that bad, She's just been miss informed about a few things. They say you can't teach a old dog new tricks?. Hopefully will be able to fish there in a couple of weeks time?.

That will be good I will let you know when i'm going. I'm back down at pavyotts sunday till wednesday so will let you know how i got on? 39lber came out the weekend. Can't wait like a kid in a toy shop.
