What is a spod rod?

I don't do a lot of carp fishing except in summer but I do have a TF gear spod rod buried somewhere in my tackle room. Basically it's a powerful rod used for casting large, rocket-shaped gadgets called spods, which are filled with loosefeed and/or groundbait for baiting up an area with more accuracy and distance than a standard catapult. You could use a light beachcaster for the job although a proper spod rod would probably be best.
