Pole Roller

Hi

I am new to fishing so have loads of questions that will seem silly to some but here goes

What is the difference between a pole roller and a rod rest ? and why does it roll?

Cheers

Steve

Re: Pole Roller

hello mate, welcome to the forum, its not a silly question at all,
a rod rest does just that, you rest your rod on it whilst fishing, a pole roller sits behind you while you are pole fishing and when you wish to pull your float in the unwanted section gets pushed behind you on the roller instead of scraping across the ground
