Re: The River Ebro carp fishing in December

Hi Dytiscus.

Have a look at my post from April this year River Ebro Trip
Who have you booked the trip with? Winter is the best time for Carp fishing on the Ebro. You just need loads and loads of pellets. For 10 days you will need at least a 100kg of pellet per person. Don't bother with boilies they are no where near as effective.

Expect plenty of 20 and 30lb fish in a day and the odd 40lb. They are huge but they use the power of the river and they know all the snags.
I used 2 3/4lb test curve rods for the Carp but a 3lb rod would have been better. We landed Catfish well over a 100lb on 4lb fox pellet master rods. You need to have a guide if you want to target the Catfish.
