Question Grass Carp nr tewkesbury

Does anyone know anywhere to catch grass carp near tewkesbury or within a short driving distance? ive tried ukinghall and the river next to it but no luck. i realy want 2 catch one this season so any info or tips would be realy aprecated. thanks

really dont know much about these beasties but aint they really fussy buggers and hard to catch?

yh i set myself the challenge of gettin one this year, i woz fishin the river next to ukinghall all day a bloke set up 3 pegs down from me and caught one within 30 mins. just my luk lol

lol yes from reading around on the net they are shy little devils..... i guess the answer is just scale everything down to lighter gear and be a little more stealthy so not to spook them..... i dont know!

think they have some where we are going in france i would love to get one but from looking around online there is no specific way to target them

a lake i used to fish in surrey stocked about 100 of these all about the 1lb mark the first season we were catching these on any bait you can think off (even lumps of branstan pickle) the thing is after that season the little buggers went into hiding and carnt be found

Well mate there were some put on Myth pool just above tewksbury but dont know hows thats fishing since the floods ( they were put in there about 4 years ago )

And this monster caught on the river severn on a BAA stretch

LOL I think you just answered what happened to the fish in the Floods Richard. I expect there's a few exotic species in the Avon & Severn now. Probably a few Catfish too

Yh i fished mythe its just full of roach and its really clear in some places like tap water all the carp are in the rivers including the catfish but i had no idea that there woz grass carp in there

Grass Carp have a more upturned mouth than other Carp types. They like to take food from the surface. Floating dog biscuit or bread flake can be effective. I have caught one on Tiger nut boille. What a fight from a 12lb Carp.
