Re: New carp/tench lake nr tewkesbury Its a real shame the prices have gone up! This lake is not ready yet and to charge £20 when there is so much work to do and silt to removal seems a bit greedy. There are plenty of other lakes that offer fish in excess of 25lb for £15-£18. I will not fish this lake again until it is sorted, probably this time next year! ![]()

Re: New carp/tench lake nr tewkesbury I fished the lake with a nate back in December after seeing some pics on the internet and was VERY disappointed. Basically the lake is only 2-3ft deep with deep silt and is FULL of) single figure fish. The bailliff tells a good yarn about fish to 28 but when asked to produce pics of them (including the fish he says he had) he can't....he alsodidn'tknow whether the 28 was a common or mirror.....it was a mirror when I asked him on the phoneprior to our visit but was a common when we asked him on the day!!!!!!.He also wouldn't leave us alone and constantly pumpe us for details of where we fished and bored us half to death about all the big named waters he'd fished (like we were in the slightest bit interested!).If he'd fished as many waters and for the length of time that he reckons he'd have to be 86 and to my eyes he only looks about 10!!!! By the end of the day we'd nicknamed him Jack (anory)!!!!!!! The place would make a lovely fishery but after speaking to several other anglers locally who have fished all report the same results with the biggest fish just in to doubles..frankly in my opinion the stories of biguns are just rubbish designed to get anglers fishing. It is far too expensive given the size of the fish and a complete waste of time unless you want to spend the day bagging little uns.

Re: New carp/tench lake nr tewkesbury Here here, I know the lad you are on about and he talks aloud of rubbish, you mention a lake and he as fished it and caught the biggest.. whatever, It is a real shame that the lake has not changed since August when I fished it.. it has so much potential but for £20 quid they have to be kidding when you can fish the home of thirties for for just four quid more... I put it down to an experience and vowed never to go there again..... I suggest people who read this do the same.....

Re: New carp/tench lake nr tewkesbury yes I agree and I came to the same conclusion ,it could make alovely water to fish but the owner appears to be taking his advice from `Jack' so will be doomed to fail. As you say loads more water locally and access to much bigger REAL fish not FANTASY fish within easy driving, in my opinion I would also warn serious carpers to steer clear. If its just a bend in the rod you are after and you are happy catching singles then this is the place for you!
