I was 200 yds away around the other side of the lake talking to a mate and the receiver still picked up the bite! They pick up drop backs quite well. I often fish slack lines with back leads when Carp fishing and find them good value!

Re: bite alarms

well my main investment for these alarms with the reciever is for my trip to france........ i have a pair of fox mx alarms......but for one more alarm and a reciever it would be more expensive than 3 of the sundridge plus a reciever!..... being as at home i normally only use 2 rods (none of the lakes i fish are big enough to fish 3 rods) then the sundridge alarms would very rarely be used to be honest.... so as long as they last me the french trip i dont care!

The only fault I can find with them is that the illuminated drop-off is only attached to the alarm by the wire and can pull it's self out when you strike. Not a problem when you have the bank sticks on dry land but I often fish with the front stick in the water and wouldn't want the bobbin to get wet. The way around it I use is to trap the wire to the stick with an elastic band. The bobbins do take apart and I suppose I could attach a chain if I could find one to fit! Sorry for the long winded reply but they are worth the money! I got mine of ebay for £65 inc p+p.

i see what you mean by the wire issue now .

i use these http://www.delkim.co.uk/products/nitelite.asp
these i attach to a http://www.foxint.com/catalogues-pro...ue=1&section=2

I just change swap the heads ,don't know if this can be done with these..

I attach cable by small cable clips
