Talking Tirley Court Carp Fishing Gloucestershire

Tirley Court Carp Fishing Gloucestershire

Well after a few pms me and Chris (Kabbychris) decided to met up for a spot of carp fishing at Tirley Court , Gloucestershire.

Bait for for me was Solar Wedges ( squid and octopus ) as the hook bait and hemp seed plus crushed hemp flakes to go in the PVA bag. All fishing down on a Korda 6 Wide gap hook

We both got there at 7.30 to lovely morning. But unfortunately the fine weather had put the carp into spawn mode so hopes were not to high of getting much as the carp were all loved up.

MY Peg

Chrises Peg

But out went the baits and after a few brews ( cheers Chris ) I started to get a few carp . Nothing special three of them between 9 and 12lb . But that was it and from 11am onward we both sat there run less. We tried all kinds of rigs and baits but not a sniff.

A few of the carp ( and a master class in how to make fish look bigger than they were LOL )

Chris had a move as he was unfortunate to have someone turn up on the peg next to him who could not cast straight if his hair was on fire , but still Chris remain carp less.

At 2pm the day was getting way to hot for me as I had forgotten to bring my umbrella and I called it a day leaving Chris down there to continue to see if he could get one out.

Was great to meet Chris a top bloke and look forward to fishing with him again . The trip blew the cobwebs off the carp tackle and now its all systems go and lets see if I can get a few more out over the next few months

Re: Tirley Court Carp Fishing Gloucestershire

I did manage to catch a couple around 10lb but called it a day at 4.00. I'd been up for 30 hours so needed some kip. I had a good day with Richard (top bloke) We are going to try another lake soon, so will let you know how we get on?

Re: Tirley Court Carp Fishing Gloucestershire

Hi had another go at tirley today, and bumped into Nick (Butt2nick) he was fishing in the very desirable swim (my second choice) most of the lake had been taken. So I opted for the high bank swims (not to good for me as Ive got a dodgy knee) but the swims have been made up so not too much stress. First cast to the island with halibut pellet+sweetcorn produced a lovely 15.2 common. fishing was slow. Changed tactics when it started to warm up, and fished 5 granes of corn on a long hair that was better with 2 fish coming straight after one another. Nick was fishing in the corner swim where the water is deeper and sheltered more, he was getting nocks but that was all, He changed where he was casting, to a overhanging tree and had a mirror within 15 min. He was only fishing till 12 which was a shame because about 1 all hell broke loose. the people on the car park swims was getting fish after fish 3 had fish on at same time. I fished till 3 and had 16.8, 12.1, 8, 17.3, 18.6 12, 14.8, 8, 9, 10, all commons agood day and most enjoyable nice to meet Nick. HOPEFULLY going again tomorrow. Pictures to follow if i can work it out.
