Clipping Up?

feel i need to get this sorted, always fished puddles where it was a case of
pva up chuck it out and hope for the best and usualy bagging up
but now have the desire to fish larger or more challenging waters
either using marker float and spod (if i realy have too) or consentraiting bait
in a small area through using pva bags, maybe sitting a bait a few feet out
of the opposite margin in the dark!
so as u can see i need to start clipping up! somthing i havnt done before
now call me thick (ive been called worse)
i find the spot i wont to hit alnight,
tighten up or leave slightly slack watever,
tie some pole elastic on the line as a marker.
clip that up
reel in , and cast to same spot with the clip braking the cast?
un-clip and set alarms
now if i get a run and play a fish out, duz it mean i then have to
walk the line out on the bank until i get to the elastic marker
clip up again, and begin process!
also if im casting clipped up with say a 1oz lead and a substantial
pva bag/stick with say 6ft of leadcore will a shock leader need to be employed! could i use the pole elastic as a brake!
(am i over complicating things?

if anyone has a moment could they talk me through ther clipping up method
cheers in advance for any help!

Re: Clipping Up?

Just cast out again, then get your mark then clip up retreive the rod, bait up and recast to the area you are fishing.

Re: Clipping Up?

why not! use your head lamp to find the marker on the line. just cast in any direction and wind in until you see your marker then re-clip up, wind in the rest of the line put your bait on and re-cast to your swim.
