Carp Care

Whilst on a fishing trip in the summer I noticed that an angler was using Bonjela on a carp instead of the standard carp antiseptic. I was wondering if any one else uses Bonjela or is it harmful to the fish?

Re: Carp Care

There was a big debate on this on another forum, the verdict was although alot of people use bonjela on carp it is not ideal as it seals over the wound and can trap infection in, you are best to use Klinik as it cleans the wound and stops bleeding allowing the natural defensive of the carp to close the wound.

It is better than nothing but I always carry klinik with me for the dodgy hook wounds.

Re: Carp Care

I carry Klinik, but I can't see why Bonjela shouldn't work. It's a mild anaesthetic and has antiseptic qualities. It's mentioned a lot in carp magazines.
