Re: Fishing For Carp Tirley Court

Finally got along for a short session this morning. Had the pick of the swims as I was first there at just gone 7am. Had a mooch around but could not see any obvious activity so went for one where I could lob baits fairly close to one of the islands.

Bagged two fish of 12 1/2lb and 10lb on halibut pellets/fake sweetcorn.

Both the fish were in lovely condition which is always nice to see.

And a first for me. Two guys from the Environment Agency were down checking rod licences.

Re: Fishing For Carp Tirley Court

Hi All, Had another day at tirley yesterday got there at about 8ish chose the car park swims again. The sun was quite warm by then and a lot of fish where topping. First cast with my trusty halibut and sweetcorn 18.12 common very happy, was hoping this week was going to be even better than last week. Then the sun came out in all its glory, and all the fish decided to sunbath. I managed a few more 12.1, 17.6, 11.8, 10lb all commons in lovely condition. Tried to get them off the top but was having none of it, so decided to try the match lake, threw out a hand full of dog biscuits the fish went mad. I was catching 4-6lbers one after the other it was quite exciting to see them taking the bait then fighting harder than even the bigger fish, I must have had about 15-20 fish packed up and went home a happy man. Going again next Tuesday will let you know how I get on. Bye for now.

Re: Fishing For Carp Tirley Court

Fish are spawning and not interested in feeding.

I managed one of 13lb but that was one of only two caught between 4 of us. The carp were crashing around all over the place so i suppose it might be a couple of weeks before they finish spawning.

Hi all, went to tirley on tuesday, can't believe it was the same lake as last couple of weeks. fish topping everywhere had two runs but that was it. I'm going to give it a couple of weeks before going back unless it picks up before, anyone going there let us know how you get on. Bye for now.
