| hi all, i know this thread is a bit old but its been a great read for me as i am planning to go to tirley this sunday and will be using a simair rig to yours but this will be my first time using pva bags etc etc [only really float fish] seen some guy there last sunday and he was doing really well with it got a 10 pounder within 20mins then a 12,a few 14`s ,a 20 and a few smaller ones roughly every 20mins ,anyway fought it was something i would like to try, got to learn sometime, i have a strong 12ft 2 piece kingfisher carp rod which i think should be up to the job and have a new baitrunner reel coming in the post theres just a few things i am not sure about![]() ![]() which mainline to go with, as in breaking strain? been looking at some ck native camolon camo carp line available at 10lb/12lb/15lb? also i have been given some 15lb braid to use as my hair length is this ok for this lake? or am i better off buying some 20lb stuff as in your thread? any help and any other tips would be great. cheers dave |

| Re: Fishing For Carp Tirley Court The Stig I use 14lb mainlaine with braid rigs. Dont forget to take some sweetcorn with you as its a good bait there. Also dont overlook the margins which produce well. Good luck Nick |

| Re: Fishing For Carp Tirley Court thanx alot mate got some 14lb berkley trilene coming as my mainline and 18 lb braid for my rig, i fish petes lake at tirley alot float fishing with sweetcorn they love the stuff , can u recommend a bait mix for my pva mesh that would work well here?[home lake] i hope to beat my pb of 9 lb on sunday cheers again ![]() |
