Question Re: Fishing For Carp Tirley Court

hi all, i know this thread is a bit old but its been a great read for me as i am planning to go to tirley this sunday and will be using a simair rig to yours but this will be my first time using pva bags etc etc [only really float fish] seen some guy there last sunday and he was doing really well with it got a 10 pounder within 20mins then a 12,a few 14`s ,a 20 and a few smaller ones roughly every 20mins ,anyway fought it was something i would like to try, got to learn sometime, i have a strong 12ft 2 piece kingfisher carp rod which i think should be up to the job and have a new baitrunner reel coming in the post theres just a few things i am not sure about which mainline to go with, as in breaking strain? been looking at some ck native camolon camo carp line available at 10lb/12lb/15lb? also i have been given some 15lb braid to use as my hair length is this ok for this lake? or am i better off buying some 20lb stuff as in your thread? any help and any other tips would be great. cheers dave

Re: Fishing For Carp Tirley Court

The Stig

I use 14lb mainlaine with braid rigs.

Dont forget to take some sweetcorn with you as its a good bait there.

Also dont overlook the margins which produce well.

Good luck

Nick
