Talking Wild carp

I was recently given permission to fish a pond on private farmland. It has a chalk stream flowing in one end and out the other and is stuffed full of natural food. As far as I am aware no-one has fished in it before (not for years anyway). The carp were really easy to catch, but did not look like the ones I catch in the River Adur. They are not grass carp, but have the same shaped body. Could they be wild carp? Does anyone know what wild carp look like? They were all around 3-5 lbs.

Thumbs up Re: Wild carp

Yep, definately sounds like wildies. Great sport on light gear. You should get a far better fight than you would with your average pellet fed stock fish.

Re: Wild carp

Yes, I definitely noticed that! They went, well, wild! How big do they grow?
