slayer has a spectacular aura aboutslayer has a spectacular aura about
carping last weekend

My mate took me to a carp lake in sussex at the weekend, sorry he asked me not to name the lake on the forum.
When we arived at the lake i chose my spot, a corner of the lake where a south west wind was blowing in and the odd fish could be seen braking the rain pitted suface.there was a small island to my right which i decided to bait heavy with 2 kilos of fresh 20mm boilies.
with both rods cast towards the baited area, with the bobbins set slack it was time to sit back ,put the kettel on and enjoy sitting under the brolly watching the carp crash over the bait.
Just as darkness fell the right hand rod cracked out from the line clip and roard off , i was on the rod in seconds and in to my first fish of the night, not a monster but a recpectable looking 12 lb mirror ,
This is going to be to long to wright a full report and i have not got the time for that at the mo but by the morning i had had 10 carp all doubles and lost 3 the order of the night
12lb mirror
10lb mirror
15lbmirror
23lb mirror
15lb mirror
12lb mirror
19lb mirror
12lb mirror
17lb mirror
19lb mirror
I was thinking this lake of my mates was realy easy and some what of a stock pond that was untill i spoke to him in the morning when i walked round to him about 200 yards left of where i was fishing,. he said that ten carp in a night was realy good going for there and that he had not had a sniff all night,
Went back to my swim recast for the last 2 hours of our visit in hope there may be some more fish around and sure enough within minits i was into another fish, this ended up straitning out my hook and was lost , no idear how big this was did not feal that masive though. tied a new rig and went to cast it out but did not quite make it as the other rod was ripping off. this time a 18lb common carp and a lovly looking fish at that, real long and lean

above should be the 23lb mirror

this should be an 18lb common the last of the 11 fish slay
How do i enter the common into the fish of the month comp?
