Re: Earthworms. probably the oldest bait used, brandlings may work better, they look like big bloodworm, a fishes favorite worm, they gorge themselves on them __________________ good luck and tight lines chris lifes to short for animosity.

Re: Earthworms. Put a couple of nice big lobworm on your hook and inject one with air using a fine point needle - the ones used for insulin if you can get them are ideal.

Re: Earthworms. May I ask, why I need to inject one with air? Sorry if it is a daft question :P

Re: Earthworms. It keeps it just off the bottom, which is the prime strike zone for big carp (among others). __________________ 2012 species: 13 All-time species: 65 New species caught in 2012: white sucker, popeye shiner, white shiner

Re: Earthworms. When fishing the Thames tidal reaches I sometimes take along a few earthworms as well as the more traditional baits for salt water species. In my humble experience (what do I know?), I catch quite a few eels on earthworms. But unsurprisingly, fish such as bass and flatties etc., don't seem to go for them. Kind regards.
