Too many blanks Hi all, I have spent a lot of time night fishing through the summer but for some reason i have had 4 blanks in a row. I have spoken to other anglers on arrival at my chosen lake and found that they have been unsuccessful in the day.I then live in hope that the carp or what ever is lurking will be feeding at night. I have stuck to my guns and used tried and tested baits, soft braid hair rig double boilies or snowman rigs, cell, active-8, pineapple. a couple of good handfuls of broken boilies in the area and then leave it alone. last 4 sessions all at different lakes have drawn blanks, not even a run, not even a bleep... All i can think is that alot of people are fishing at the moment and the commercial lakes are over fed. if thats not the case, what else can it be, should i try a different tactic. is it just me ???? __________________ I snagged.., 5lb tench, 25.3lb common, 16.4lb mirror , 2.2lb roach, 4 lb chub and 10lb Ghost.

Re: Too many blanks very hard to over feed carp,, however they do wise up to boilies, try boilies that have been in the water for hours ,ie fish one bait for the whole session without reeling it in, unless you get a bite,,Old boilies normally go a off white colour, then fish one rod with maize as hookbait and particles as groundbait... this time of year in daylight the carp can be seen surface feeding, try freelined dogbiscuit

Re: Too many blanks Its a tricky time of year. I spent 12 hours down at raker lakes near york wit my old man last weekend and it was so dead it was untrue. Didnt see a single fish rise or show all day. Nothing to do with baits or rigs, think one or two fish came out all day to 30+ rods. Its just pressure sometimes and I think at this time of the year it can make it tricky.
