Mussels on hair rig?

Hi im new here and would like to know if it is possible to hair rig a mussel, a mussel bought from a supermarket so its cooked by the way, ive had good luck fishing with mussel in the local lakes in my area but i have lost a couple of good fish as the hook has not set properly thanks

Just use a large hair stop

Only use shop bought mussels as it is illegal to use ones from a lake

You could also try a bait band

you can buy a little tool which expands the band making it easyier to attach directly to hook or on the hair loop.

i use a pair of long pronged tweezers . also doubles up to get my boilies out of the glug tub

And when things are quite i can pluck my eyebrows

I see, the tricky thing is, were would the band attach to? In the mussel i hook it straight to the foot, its dark coloured from the rest of the mussel, would i attach it to that?
