| Carp bagup session on the 7th of june 2010 me and my cousin decided we would revisit a personal favorite location of mine in southwales as we have been fishing the usk resivior for about 4 months every 2 weeks catchin some nice size trout up to 5lb any ways we decided to hit white springs fishery once again for a bag up on the old canal lake it was pritty hot weather but the carp wasnt to bad on roasing to the surface for our floating bread i set up a simple rig of a float the required split shots size 8 barbless and bread on the hook floating along with a float rod with 8lb carp line just to be safe :P so we started putting bread out and fishing maggots untill i hered a carp surface funny enough it was for the bread so we changed onto the floating bread and started the bag up little did we know this would be a fantastic day of fishing all together we bagged 25 carp with 8 7lbs 5 6-6.9lbs and a few high fives and low fives after that fun day i was determined to beat my record catch of 16lb 4oz so we decided to camp on the specimen lake my cousin kept hitting nice bream 4lb+ me i was getting nothing untill at 3am in the morning the reel screamed off with the alarm beeeping i struck into a fish it was like hooking into a rock lol my carp rods both have 15lb and 20lb spools i was using 15 i thought i was gunna snap lol then it comes the fightt i could feel it was over 16 i estimated about 18 drag set after a long hard fight for 20 mins i finally landed my biggest carp so far wet the sling zeroed the scales and weight it it cape to 23lb 9oz after deducting the weight of the sling wet i cant wait to return over night to try top that i know the record there is 46lb so its possible      |

| Re: Carp bagup session yeah very lol but was well worth the 7 hour wait for the run at the end lol a shame my cousin didnt manage to hit a big carp that night as he was using sweetcorn with maggots in a feeder lol so kept hitting bream were i was ledgering a strawberry boily after spotting out a nice bed of bait such as hemp sweetcorn chopped up boiles pellets and maggots lol |
