There are no best baits to catch carp. It varies from water to water and from day to day. you are better going to your local water and watching what others are using to get an idea where to start. I fish waters that respodn to fruit based boilies and others just around the corner that respond better to fishmeals. My advice would be to take a selection with you and try them all until you find the answers. Don't ignore the old favourites sweet corn luncheon meat maggots worms and all manner of seed and particle baits

I use dyanimate baits halibut 4mm pellet as a ground bait also use it in a feeder with a 8mm halibut hook bait on a hair rig, ive found this to be a killer set up if you use the new Korda guru feeders as the small pellets expand and lay your hook bait perfect in the ground bait, i know the 8mm pellet is small and will catch the smaller carp but at least this keeps you on your toes, as every now and then that PB comes along.

You could also try PVA bags to get a nice cluster of bait around your hookbait...I usually use chilli hemp seed, maize, 3mm pellet and crushed boilie...this will enhance your chances mate.
