Pellets on the method? Hi everyone. When method feeder fishing i use the convential method mix ground bait appraoch to load the feeder. On my last session a guy was using the same method but loading the feeder with pellets. I asked the question to which pellets were best to use as i would like to try the method out, to no avail. A closely guarded secret it would appear! Anyone use this method? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Pellets on the method? Hi Andy I have not used this tactic before but i did see them discussing it on Tight Lines on Sky Sports 2 before "fish 'o' mania". They put a layer of tightly squezed pellets on a method feeder, and then made a small dimple in the middle of the pellets (so the baited hook could fit in) with his finger and placed his baited hook in and the covered this with an other layer of tightly squezed pellets. Hope this helps, BW __________________ WACCOE-MARCHING ON TOGETHER-WACCOE

Re: Pellets on the method? They maybe soft hooker pellets, that are slightly soaked so they bind together better. However i maybe wrong, but if was to fishing the method with pellets thats how i would do it, mind you soft hooker pellets can be expensive. __________________ "The muscles of 20 men, and the brains of 20 mussels",

Re: Pellets on the method? I've never used pellets when Method fishing however I have used pellets with either PVA bags or netting with a lot of sucess. I use a betain pellet mix,2mm, 4mm, 6mm & 8mm pellets, with a large dumbbell pre-drilled pellet (25mm) which has been dipped in a betain dip.....it works well with boilies too.

Re: Pellets on the method? Thanks for the advice guys. I gave the method a try out on Friday using pellets and crushed boilies briefly soaked in lake water so they turned just soft enough to mould. With a 10mm boilie as hook bait presented as black water suggested. May be total coincidence but on a day when i struggled to catch the method loaded with pellets came good. Like i say it be may be pure luck but i would definitely recommend giving it a try. Thanks again guys for all the advice.

Re: Pellets on the method? I pour boiling water over some pellets to make them into a paste then add some mini grubber pellets to make a long range casting method mix, give it a good squeeze and it will stay on no matter how far you are going to cast. It breaks down quite quick as well.
