cuba-cayo guillermo

hello evryone,i'm off to cuba,cayo guillermo,does any one have any tips for this region?ive got a bit of info regarding tarpan near the road bridge but would be greatful for owt else,im not going till march 2010 so just getting prepaired!!!!

hi marc, was there in july, my cousin hooked a tarpan of the road bridge ,but on a fly rod, couldnt hold it, caught loads of the jetty on the beach ,fish between 1-2 lb great fun with a lite rod, prawns are the bait, we gave chef a few pesos gave us bout 5kg of them, was bringing in a small fish when got smashed up by a baracuda, you can go out on orginised fishing trips , saw boat come in ,they had a few biggish baracuda,

nice one mate,staying at the iberostar daiquiri,first time to cuba but nit the caribbean!theres a wicked video on you tube,just type in "fishing in cayo guillermo"look at the "causeway giants"its pretty good.
also do you know owt about the canals at the back of the hotels?

hi stayed at the same hotel, u luv it, the canals got lots of tarpun, but best b4 sun gets up, was there 1 day, was like a jacuzzi they were chasing the fry, fish jumping everywere,

the best way is fly or a popper

thanx alot pal,thats top info!!!!!wots the hotel like?we been allover caribbean but never to cuba,got sick of rude yanks so thats why we chose this place,i understand its not too touristy either.

u luv it marc. def no yanks, only canadians & british, hotel is awesome, there r only 4-5 hotels on this island, great beach, def go on few of the trips, def the speedboat , cocktails r ok as well lol
