net for netting a lake

Hi, Has anyone have or know someone who would be willing to lend the WDAC a net so we net one of our lakes?
Or know where we might be able obtain one from?

Steve

think the best idea would be to contact the environment agency...they net and clear ponds and lakes all the time....you'll also be garanteed that it will have been properley disinfected too since its last use so you won't be introducing and nasties to your lake.

I have spoken to them all they will do is pass you on to contractor and that cost more than a net, prices from £300 a day. we found a company that sell nets but the question is what to do. Maybe more thought into it.

Re: net for netting a lake

Netting it will be a pain in the ar** with all the weed in there depending how bad it gets this year. Why not see if anyones got a petrol water pump, block off the inflow and drain it. You wont need to drain it completely and then just get a few people with nets to net the fish as the water level drops. If you did it when rain is forecast you could probably have filled back up in a few days especially as it has inflow from the ditch. You could hire a pump for a 40quid a day. Just a thought.

Re: net for netting a lake

Hi Steve,

Hopefully you are currently seeking, or have got consent to use the net, from the Environment Agency. Just a bit of form filling... Your club may have a blanket consent on all your lakes anyway.

You could try Collins nets, If your interested in purchasing one.

http://www.collinsnets.co.uk/

We purchase all our nets & dry suits from them. Speak to Nigel. The team are very helpful.

Have you asked another club that you may share tickets with? They may have a net, for loan.

Elliot
