| Multipurpose Rod Query?? Hey guys, very new to fishing but really enjoying it :) Have been carping a couple of times with my brother but just wanted to ask something... Is it possible to buy a rod and reel and use it for Carp fishing AND pike fishing?? obv i know this would mean changing the line and tackle etc but is it an option?? if so what kind of rod would i need?? what tension would i need etc?? any good examples?? sorry for the noobish question ![]() |

| Re: Multipurpose Rod Query?? I've often used my carp rods for piking & they work fine. I suspect many manufacturers use the same blanks. Mine are 2 3/4lb test curve rods, but for deadbaiting for pike i'd advise using a slightly heavier rod. 3 - 3 1/2lb TC. You should pick up a reasonable carbon rod for £35 - £40.
