Penarth Boat Trip

Hi, I would like some information regarding cod fishing from Penarth. Could you give me details of any good skippers, time of year, are spring tides the best/worst times, baits. And more important is a good B&B that is close to a pub . We normally fish Dartmouth, but me and three friends want a change of venue. We want to fish two days. We assume uptiding works best. Any information would help, as we have not fished there before.

There are several good boats operating from Penarth Marina. The Cod usually arrive, early Oct with a run of bigger fish, and stay till late Feb/March.Small to medium tides are good, the bigger tides fish well too,but you are confined inshore till the strength of the run dies off .Best baits are "BIG" worm and squid coctails. There are some good B&B`s in Penarth and your a water taxi ride away from Cardiff Bay.

Re: Penarth Boat Trip

Thanks all, looks like we will be on Lady Hellen fishing with three, possibly five friends later in the year - for 2 days.
