Re: Cork Small Boats Festival

Hi All

Cork Small Boats Comp has been running for a number of years and is run by Tony Tait and Leisure Angling.

The basis of the event is a 3 day species hunt and a 1 day specimen hunt.

Most of the fishing is within the harbour which is very sheltered so most days you can get out fishing.

There are a wide range of species to be caught and over the past few yrs the winners have had around 20 species.

There are number of prizes availablefor each day for species and specimens. The week long event is based on a holiday park called Trabolgan - a bit like a Centre Park with bars, restaurants, leisure club, golf course etc! On the last night we all get together for a meal and prize presentation.

All in all great fun and once you've been you'll go back every year!

Dont forget the Guiness!

I've not fished that one but I've fished out of Midleton a couple of years ago and we had a great time!
It was supposed to be a cod festival, but not many showed, and we ended up fishing for dabs-loads of those, and a good size-and lots of big whiting, and we went on the conger at the mouth of the estuary.
I'm off to Cahersiveen in Kerry tomorrow to fish the E.F.S.A.European Boat Championships. There will be about 270 competitors from all over Europe, and when we fished there about 3 years ago,the fishing was fantastic!-not to mention the craic!!!!Plenty of free Guinness and oysters.I can't wait.
Will post on here when I get back and let you know how it went.....
