Re: Boat Fishing Rod Help

just got back from tackel shop to have alook, the guy said the his fav rod for wreck fishing is a fladen euro gold 15-25lb class rod (7ft long i think) which was £30 and very nice, really light and had a nice action
as for reels he had 4 to choose from, ranging from £40-£60, they looked quite nice and he said he would do me a little deal if i do choose to get it from him, which would be quite good cause he usualy gives me quite alot of money off stuff anyway
he also had the celtic rod which i looked at on ebay for £32 i think, the 30-40lb class rod, which was ok but it was abit stiff and quite alot heavyer than the fladen euro gold 1
have any of you had any experience with a fladen euro gold rod?? i have a fladen beachcaster which is very nice and it only cost me £13

Re: Boat Fishing Rod Help

I wouldn't buy the rod, the rings will rust/break quite quickly with the abuse

they get on a boat, go for the Penn combo.

Re: Boat Fishing Rod Help

Agreed John. Ben, go for the Penn combo for £125 or the Shakespeare rod and penn reel for £100 (plus £10 for delivery). Don't mess about with fladen cr*p. You'll just have to buy yourself a new rod in 6 months.

You are getting good advice here, listen to it!

AG

PS thanks for the Blenny tip!
