Re: Boat Fishing Rod Help

That's a nice combination Ben, and at a great price too. That leaves you with £65 for end tackle and other bits and pieces. I would go with braid. See UK Hooks for great deals on braid.

You already have end rigs that you purchased from Gus, get a few more. Get some booms and pirks from him too. Add a some firetails (cheap as chips), Wildeye shads etc. and you'll be away. If you join the Forum Boat Crew you'll need some weights too as I don't think the skipper will supply (?) And don't forget, we are all fishing together to win as a team so if you need something I'm sure one of us will help out where necessary.

andyg reminded me of a good combo he saw in tony's tackel, £110 for aShakespeare Ugly Stick Elite boat rod 30lb and Penn 320 GTI reel
so i might go for that, but at the moment im gonna carry on looking in mags and stuff

Blimey mate, after that great write up I'm surprised you're not writing articles for Sea Angler and TSF

Re: Boat Fishing Rod Help

Ben go for it, but ask the dealer for his best possible price, explain you've just left
school, haven't got alot of money, only £110-115, be nice, it works. Dealers mark up is a min of 100% Good luck.
