Re: birthday treat cod trip

Don't worry about it Lee, there will be other days and maybe the weather will be kind.
Ask Drew, Andyg and any of the other boat-fishers on this forum, its been a bad year for weather in the channel.
Next year ???????

John

Gutted for you mate but at the end of the day at least your skipper as a head on his shoulders

Boat fishing is an expensive hobbie but thank god half our trips get canceled

Re: birthday treat cod trip

Hi Lee,

As John M has said, this is the worst year that I can remember for cancelled trips.

From January through to now we've been weathered off at least once a month. In August my 4 pre booked holiday trips were all cancelled and two others that I managed to book on were also cancelled.

AndyG and I are booked on a charter on Monday out of Hayling Island, but with the weather as it is there is no chance. We are again booked for a trip next Saturday, I just hope that the weather changes before then.

God willing there will always be a next time.

Cheers

Drew

Re: birthday treat cod trip

Same story on the small boats. I normally average 12-15 trips a year. This year I've managed 6 on my own boat and two as crew. Add maybe one more in December if I'm lucky and that's still a major hole in my fun

Steve
