Talking Wight Huntress – Carnage Crew, Gosport wrecking trip

Wight Huntress – Carnage Crew, Gosport wrecking trip

Well we all meet up at 6.30am and we were off

After a two-hour steam we arrived at one of Paul the skippers many hot wrecking marks. Fishing on the drift Paul set us up perfectly on ever drift, fishing about 100 ft of water. Down went a mixture of firetails shads and pirks.

And before you could say, “ Andgy you owe me a beer “ the shout was going out FISH ON

We had a massive first hour and a half with Bass coming up left right and centre all from 5lb to 10lb. I even saw bass chasing mackerel about a foot from the surface, and Paul the skipper almost got a sweat on unhooking the fish. Another first for me was seeing John catch a wrasse on a pirk !!!

Then a diving boat turned up and we move for a hour so that the wrecking crew who were fishing a match could go for the point

At the next wreck down went squid and fresh mackerel on a variety of rigs and up came the pout and a massive bream 4.5lb, the boys fished well

Bruce with a black bream 4.5lb

We then moved back to the first wreck and continued to catch Pout Pollock and a few more Bass

In total there were more than 20 Bass, loads of Pout, Pollock wrasse and of course mackerel

Jim with some of his Bass - He had a great days fishing

Big thank you to the Carnage Crew for the days fishing and the permission to put the pictures up

And of coarse Paul of the Wight Huntress providing spot on wrecking – to book Paul Click Here

To visit the Carnage Crew site Click Here

Hope this read ok guys and girls it been along day and I have a lovely beer in my hand
