Fishing the Spoils again (I hope)

Hi folks,
With luck, I'm out on friday to chase down Mr Cod

Anyone got any up to date news or have the big tides kept the boats inshore?

Karl, looks like we're launching Hayling side as my buddy boat prefers it but give us a wave if you're around

Steve

Re: Fishing the Spoils again (I hope)

hi, i fished off west Lepe on saturday and had a 9-12 bass, 6lb bass, 10lb thornie, a few small smuts, doggies and pout but not a sniff of a Cod.

A friend fished the Spoils Needles side sat and sun and had rays, conger, pout and doggies... again no sign of a cod. they cant be far away surely!

hello steve.
a 5lb and 3lb cod were caught yesterday half a mile east of the nab in the deep holes there ,just after high tide.but watch out they were using a pound and a half of lead when the tide picked up.we had pollack yesterday but it was hard going.if it is ripping at the spoils try near to nab 3 buoy this is the inshore cod mark it seems to produce when we have these large tides.good luck and let us know how you get on
regards karl

Thanks Karl. At the moment, looks like we're going but I have to ring Mark and check. It is going to be a bit lumpy, but at least they've dropped the 17mph prediction the BBC was giving yesterday....

If all else fails, we can always go and try in the Solent where at least we'll have some shelter.

Ah, poop.

After careful selection of the most favourable weather reports, I still couldn't make it look feasible. Mark and I both had 'delicate' crews lined up (including his FPO) and the day was going to be somewhere between choppy and downright rough by afternoon. Had to declare it

Rats!
