| Goodwin sands and North Foreland Hello, I am new to the forum so hopefully I am posting in the correct location. As a sailor who is just getting into fishing I am trying to learn how to move on from the mackeral bashing that my friends and I have been doing for some time. With this in mind we are taking my boat on a fishing trip this weekend from Ramsgate with a view to fishing around the Goodwins and North Foreland. Any tips from others who are used to fishing the area would be gratefully recieved and in particular have the mackeral moved on yet or can I rely upon catching a few for bait? Also any tips in terms of specific locations to drift or anchor, qand/or what bait is catching what in the area? |

| Re: Goodwin sands and North Foreland Hi Toutvabien, Welcome to the the Forum. Although a boat fisherman I don't fish in your area, i normally fish the ports from Brighton down to Poole. Last week Mackerel were still being caught but not in quantity. Sorry I can't be more specific.
