rod + reel ?

hi, after the amount of fun i had on the 1st im thinking about taking up boat fishing properly, the problem which comes with this is the price of getting all the new gear and also that i know next to nothing about any of the stuff i need to get
so, can any1 recomend a rod+reel which i should be able to get cheap of ebay or something for using with the sort of fishing we did on the 1st and maybe strong enough to do wrecking, i donno if thats posible to have 1 rod which does both but o well
thanks alot

Re: rod+reel?

I would give it a while until you have been on a few trips before buying boat gear.

As you can always borrow gear from the skipper , and if you only going out two or three times a year then your better off getting more shore kit

Re: rod+reel?

If you are going to start taking it up and still want a cheap rod n reel. Look at the Uglystik rods (about £40) and the Uglystik reels (about £40). You could probably get them cheaper as a combo through your local fishing shop.
