Yachts at sea Recently went out off Cardiff and there was some form of racing going on with the Yachts, gave them a nice wide berth and anchored up, only to find that they wanted to sail as close to us as possible, and I mean I could have touched one of them with the rod tip, this is not the first time this has happened to us and was just wondering if anyone else has this problem or are they out to get me. I know thet have right off way when we are motoring and don't have a problem with that but one of thems going to sink me one day i'm sure. ![]()

Yachties have no regard for other water user s,because they have their heads shoved so far up their own arse`s .You have to treat them with the contempt they deserve usually casting an 8oz gemini at them gives them the message to go away. |

Had a similar problem a few years back when fishing the river Trent at Newark. Water skiers seeing how close they could get to where I was fishing. A few catapult loads of sloppy groundbait & maggots into their boat soon put a stop to that. The air turned a bit blue though.... Try a bit of Rubbi Dubbi made from 6 month old mackies.... ![]() __________________ One man's fish is another man's poissons http://www.deepsea.co.uk http://www.wildtrout.org

Re: Yachts at sea Hi Kaptin Kod, you want to go down the Isle of Wight, the yachts are just unbelievable at times, regularly crossing right in front of the boat with little distance to spare, its like driving your car in a car park full of children !

Re: Yachts at sea Hi, i think everyone has that problem with yachts, down here we gave them a nickname of 'Wafi's (Wind Assisted F****ing Idiots)...........with all the abuse the little kids give them they still come back round for more __________________ Nothing grows faster than a fish from when it bites until it gets away.

Re: Yachts at sea It's a big empty sea out there. When you park up, it gives them a fixed reference point. " Race you to that little boat and back" Best I've seen for a long time was last trip out. Bank Holiday, the slack off Hayling Slip was heaving with jet-bikes, ferry, inbound charters, speedboats and four of us waiting to put in. Some moron in a little catamaran launched beside the slip, hoicked up the sail and went straight through the middle of the pack without a second glance. He actually went between the trailer and a speedboat coming in to recover, made the guy go astern hard, scattered a few others then trundled through the bit of water I'd just hastily vacated. He was head-down fiddling with ropes as he passed me, I'd swear that if I'd bothered wasting breath saying anything he'd have replied "what boats???". Steve

Re: Yachts at sea had this sort of trouble whilst anchored up in Chichester Harbour, I saved all the crabs I caught in a bucket, then when one came close enough---- emptied the lot into their boat, worked a treat, especially with the female crews Bungy
