Re: Yachts at sea "power concedes to sail though, don't ya know?" Aye, try telling that to the skipper of the Emma Maersk, as he puts his engines in reverse, somewhere round about the Needles, so he has a hope of stopping at Felixstowe

Re: Yachts at sea I havent really had a problem with the `cloth blowers`, but I can understand what you mean, its the `tally ho` men in their Gin Palaces that get me. They sit up there on their fly bridges sipping Martini`s (stirred not shaken, ignorant pigs) and pass your anchor warp at 40 knots without a care in the world. B*st*rds, someones going to get hurt one day. __________________ Andy. ------------------- Treat each day as your last, one day you`ll be right.

Re: Yachts at sea I'm just wondering how many folk who complain about boats passing close to them are showing the black ball that is required by Collision Regs? There are some very busy areas where we fish and very few anglers (if any) show a black ball, and as most sailors are expecting motor boats to be moving and keeping out of their way it is not surprising there are plenty of close shaves.

Re: Yachts at sea Punsj Although tecnically correct the collision regs also state that ' If a bearing remains constant, then the risk of collision occurs'. If a vessel is at anchor, hence not moving and yachty is maintaining his course then a competent skipper should know that the motorboat is not moving and that he needs to adjust the course he has usually set miles beforehand to avoid the fishing veseel that happens to be on this course, and passing a few feet away is not acceptable. Many of these stuck up their own ar*e yachty people think they own sea. Only 3 weeks ago my mate had 2 zziplex sea raiders pulled over the side by yachty passing to closely. He was in a 42 feet boat and had been anchored in the same position for 3 hours
