Some good stuff on your list, i have a South Cat on order ,definatly the best of the cats, know some one who has a Blyth and is not overly impressed.

Ye agree with you Charter Skipper, the South Boats Cat is better than the Blythe Cat.

What type of wheelhouse are you having, the std Island workboat type or aft raken sports fisherman type?

New mk2 version 11.2m........decided to have the larger island wheel house,as on Andy Smiths Spike Islander ,so you can use the centre voids for accomadation from inside the wheel house.Electronic twin iveco 330`s.Onboard generator, hot and cold running water......Not the cheapest thing i`ve ever thought about buying but a serious bit of kit.

You should take a trip to see one ,its well worth a good look, and you wont believe the handling of the boat its awesome.....

Re: Looking to buy a new boat for charter

Sounds like a well kitted out boat, onboard generator as well, I am impressed!

Am I right in thinking you have accomodation cabins under the seats?

What electronics do you intend fitting ?

With the big wheelhouse you have access to the full size of the both centre voids which can be used for either storage or temp sleeping accom, you can sleep 4 people per void easily, depending on the boats spec,if you want hot water the chlorifier goes in the rear of the port centre void.......THere is an access panel under the seats depending on the wheelhouse set out

Re: Looking to buy a new boat for charter

I've heard that quite a few orders for South Cats have been cancelled, one skipper told me he cancelled his order even though he would lose his four figure deposit. The main reasons was rediculously escalating quotes for minor alterations, worse fuel economy & lower speed compared to the original estimates.

Question Re: Looking to buy a new boat for charter

Does anybody know of any skippers who have bought a south boat cat this year, according to their website only one charter boat, 'tiger lily' was delivered this year ???

South Boats Limited - Catamaran News
South Boats Limited - Latest Launches

Charter Skipper, has your boat been delivered yet ? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Looking to buy a new boat for charter

Have you looked at Wildcats, I've fished on both Southcat and the Wildcat, as an angler I prefer the later, better ride and dry although the S/C had more deck space owing to a different deck lay out.
